They simply must put up lots of runs in this series or they've got no chance at all.
I'm going to be rooting the underachievers (Kubel, Cuddy, Orlando recently) to really play well. It would be nice if some of those types of Twins could become a force in the post season.
Can't wait for tonight!!!Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10984504525577892812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-81293106028748031612010-10-06T14:26:38.416-05:002010-10-06T14:26:38.416-05:00Here are my picks for all 4 division series. If the Twins are serious about making a World Series run, this is the matchup they should have wanted: the WS goes through the Yankees, and what better matchup than a 5-game series with homefield.

The blogosphere has been adamant that Frankie's an "ace", that his numbers indicate he's better better than CC this year. Well, Frankie, here's your chance. By this logic we somehow have a starting pitching advantage in every game but Game 4 (by setting up the rotation this way the Twins seem to be uninterested in winning this game).

Our bullpen is solid (until you get to the closer). Our lineup is solid. And, no matter how much people insist that homefield isn't much of an advantage, that's nonsense. The Twins absolutely needing a win at Yankee Stadium changes the entire dynamic of the series. Here they don't need to whatsoever.

So when you add it all up, I think the Twins should win this series in 5. Whether they do or not, well, that's why they play the games. But there is absolutely no reason why they can't win this series.

GO TWINS!!!!!!Ed Bastnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-74737118672035723402010-10-06T11:02:31.326-05:002010-10-06T11:02:31.326-05:00Whoops! If we lose I don't think we can take 3 out of 4 from the Yankees with two of those coming in NY and 1 being CC vs Blackburn. But if we can win tonight that'll give us the confidence and prove that we can beat them with their best pitcher on the mound and there is nothing stopping us at that point.Ryannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-36663371492907701912010-10-06T08:59:16.025-05:002010-10-06T08:59:16.025-05:00Delmon has been a key/surprise from the right side...Delmon has been a key/surprise from the right side all season. With Cuddy flailing away and hitting into double plays, and really no other productive righty until Valencia surprised us all, Delmon continues to be the key to this series and the entire post season.
Not too much pressure for a 24 year old, right?
Great point, Nick.
