If we trade him, we will be worse this year, but have a chance at becoming a very good or great team in the next 5 years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-18947017197398639302008-01-04T11:08:00.000-06:002008-01-04T11:08:00.000-06:00As I understand it, the Mets are hesitant to part ...As I understand it, the Mets are hesitant to part with both Gomez and Martinez in a package, but I'd think that's what they'd ultimately have to do in order to bring Santana.

To be honest, Gomez and Martinez could both probably use some more time in the minors. The Mets have really rushed them both. Gomez looked overwhelmed in the big leagues last year and could probably use more time in Triple-A. As for Martinez, he held his own in Double-A last year but didn't exactly dominate the level; he should probably start the 2008 season there as well, which would be far from tragic considering he's still only 19.Nick N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848574337121154690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-6586966996302058282008-01-04T10:47:00.000-06:002008-01-04T10:47:00.000-06:00Hey Nick. You two have some great commentary!

I've read that the Mets are apparently willing to offer up both outfield prospects Gomez and Martinez. How would you see these two young stars play into the 2008 outfield picture? Would one win the CF job and the other start at AAA Rochester?

Would love to have you check out my blog.MVBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10145811078584052785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-86900600451742976112008-01-03T23:08:00.000-06:002008-01-03T23:08:00.000-06:00I noticed that Jesse. I enjoyed your write-up.

TT, naturally I believe that any of those players would be a more likely candidate to start in center than Pridie. But if Santana doesn't get traded (which seems quite possible at this juncture), Pridie would have to be viewed as the leading candidate.Nick N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848574337121154690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-49606771761191182642008-01-03T21:50:00.000-06:002008-01-03T21:50:00.000-06:00I kinda like Pridie.I think he'll be at AAA most o...I kinda like Pridie.

I think he'll be at AAA most of the season assuming the Twins get Ellsbury, Cabrera or Gomez, but next season he could be a 4th OF option IMO.

Nice job...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-53371740274484314402008-01-03T16:59:00.000-06:002008-01-03T16:59:00.000-06:00Great minds think alike, I wrote on the same thing...Great minds think alike, I wrote on the same thing last night.
