There are a lot of teams out there in need of pitchers and Lohse is part of a pretty select group of guys that will be on the market. I'll be doing a more thorough write-up on trade possibilities in Thursday's post.Nick N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848574337121154690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-1153259386628247032006-07-18T16:49:00.000-05:002006-07-18T16:49:00.000-05:00What, other than hope, makes you say that Lohse wi...What, other than hope, makes you say that Lohse will be gone by the trading deadline? I'm not saying it would necessarily be a bad move, but I see no particular reason to think it will happen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-1153246091239602952006-07-18T13:08:00.000-05:002006-07-18T13:08:00.000-05:00Of course the statement itself was not particularl...Of course the statement itself was not particularly groundbreaking, but it is kind of surprising to hear a Twins player actually say it. To me, it's nice to know that even the players on his team scratch their heads sometimes at the moves Terry Ryan makes.Nick N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848574337121154690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-1153240027710141802006-07-18T11:27:00.000-05:002006-07-18T11:27:00.000-05:00Yea, its pretty easy to say in retrospect, but at ...Yea, its pretty easy to say in retrospect, but at the same time, its very true. This spring, despite whatever positives spins we could put on the Twins free agent signings, there was a sense that they could very easily not pan out. Beyond that, it was easy to see that these guys were in the way of much more talented youth. <BR/><BR/>The problem was that the organization and fan base didn't want to say it, but there was feeling that this season wouldn't end with a playoffs and it was stupid to have a Batista or Castro on the team. Even if Batista did what he was supposed to it, I dont know that it mattered. This year is all about the future and it sadly took too much time to realize that, but at least we have 2007 as a consolation prize if we don't make it.Nick M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05029328242185237902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11215059.post-1153234988963863502006-07-18T10:03:00.000-05:002006-07-18T10:03:00.000-05:00"The Batista signing, I didn't understand," a Twin..."The Batista signing, I didn't understand," a Twins player said last weekend. "And we expect Rondell to be an every-day DH even though he's never been one? From Opening Day we should have just gone with the kids."<BR/><BR/>Pretty easy to say now. And useless. And stupid.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
