After giving up yet another first inning run, Brad Radke was actually solid last night. Radke allowed a run in the first inning, but then lasted until the seventh before along another. That would be enough to push the A's to a 2-1 victory, as the punchless Twins offense could muster only one run against the A's' staff.
The Twins went 1/9 in scoring opportunities, left 10 men on base, and did not get a hit from their four or five hitter. They played atrocious defense, with Justin Morneau and Luis Castillo running into each other on a routine pop-fly to set up the A's second and winning run. And they couldn't even run the bases well, as Tony Batista starred into space in the seventh in the middle of a clear opportunity to move from second to third after a run-scoring single that could have helped the Twins to a lead. That is how you lose a ballgame.
